During the Roaring Twenties (1919 to 1931 inclusive), the Montparnasse quarter earned its renown, becoming the centre of artistic, literary and cultural life in Paris.

Today, its legendary cafés, restaurants, cinemas and theatres make Montparnasse one of the trendiest areas in the capital, whilst also being an important business district.
